Bay County to Celebrate Industry Appreciation Month

Shining a spotlight on companies that help to diversify Bay County's economy, the Bay County Chamber of Commerce and the Bay County Economic Development Alliance (EDA) will host the Annual Industry Appreciation Celebration (IAC) during the month of September.

The EDA will announce the winner of the new Community Impact Award at First Friday on September  5.  The award will recognize a Bay County company that distinguishes itself in high-value job creation and innovations that strengthen and diversify the local economy. The award winner will be widely recognized in the local media.

The State of Florida has a long-standing tradition of celebrating existing industry.  In 1984, former Governor Bob Graham signed a proclamation designating the third week in September as Industry Appreciation Week.  The Bay County celebration, originally based on the state program, now extends throughout the month.
